I woke up to the beautiful sight of snow. Yesterday my family impatiently waited for the snow, and it didn’t fall until late last night. I’ve spent most of my life living in warmer climates: Florida, Okinawa, Texas. All I know is heat. I’m not a huge fan of cold weather, but something about the snow is so fascinating to me. Grateful to live in a city that can snow, but doesn’t snow frequently.
I had a loaf of sourdough bulk fermenting over night, and I threw it in the fridge for a quick cold proof while my oven preheats. I’ve spoiled myself with homemade bread, and now I refuse to eat store bought. I believe Miss Ina Garten would be proud. My current breakfast obsession is cheesy scrambled eggs, and bacon on fresh sourdough toast. And it’s gotta have strawberry jam, and sriracha.
Sunday is my favorite day of the week. Usually we spend the day cleaning and preparing for the week. I’ve also gotten in the habit of cooking a Sunday dinner. This week I’ll be making honey garlic chicken, broccoli, and loaded baked potatoes. And of course, sourdough cookies.
I made both chocolate chunk, and cookie butter cookie dough. I’ve fallen in love with this recipe I’m working on, but I’m testing bake times now. Baking has brought me so much joy, and I’ve felt happy all day. Not sure if it’s the Lexapro or the sourdough, but the vibes have been immaculate.
Hope y’all have a fantastic week— stay warm!
